Internationally-acclaimed and interstate artists come together with Albany’s stars for a concert performance of the world’s most popular opera; Verdi’s La traviata.
With the most famous tunes in all of opera, thrilling solo moments, party scenes and intimate, poignant duets, La traviata is the timeless story of Violetta Valery; a true story of a young woman who rose to fame and fell in love, and then sacrificed it all.
Returning to Albany after the 2019 Albany Arts Festival highlight The Opera Gala, internationally acclaimed baritone José Carbó stars in his signature role of the powerful father, Giorgio Germont. Scottish-Australian soprano Jenna Robertson stars in the title role of Violetta Valery, young Albany soprano Bonnie Staude makes her operatic debut as Annina and Albany conductor Neville Talbot makes an exciting operatic conducting debut.
Featuring the Albany Chamber Orchestra, an Albany Community Chorus and performed in Italian with English surtitles.
