Acclaimed opera singers come together with Albany’s stars, for a concert performance of the world’s most popular opera, La traviata.

Verdi’s La traviata (The Fallen Woman) tells the story of Violetta Valery; a timeless true story of a young woman who rose to fame and fell in love, and is forced to sacrifice it all. With over 80 people on stage performing the most famous tunes of opera, as well as intimate duets and thrilling solo moments, La traviata was a highlight of the Albany arts calendar.

Returning to Albany after the 2019 The Opera Gala, thrilling soprano Jenna Robertson performs the title role alongside Australia’s premier baritone José Carbó in his signature role of Germont.  This concert celebrates the unique talent of the Great Southern with the role debut of young Albany soprano Bonnie Staude as Annina and the opera debut of conductor Neville Talbot, the Albany Choral Society and the Albany Chamber Orchestra.

La traviata was performed in Italian with English surtitles.
